Friday was the first day of Spring Break and we already accomplished a lot as far as the weekend project of painting our daughter's room pink. (Pink Ribbon by Valspar). It looks so good I wondered why it took us so long to paint it from its original color. But now that Megan is turning 8 soon, she'll probably appreciate it and remember it more than if she was younger.
We are having wood floors installed in two weeks (her bedroom, family room, and our office) so that will be a wonderful change. I'll post a picture when it's complete.
Tomorrow, we are off to South Florida for some fun in the sun!

Introduction
Welcome to Once Upon a Mom's life. I thought it was pretty cool that my friend Cindy started her own blog so I checked out how to create my own and here I am. This blog will probably just be for friends and family who may be interested in what I have to say, or not. :)
I'm a mom who is about to embark on a new milestone. Turning 40 years old in June. Gosh to even type 40 years old snaps me back into reality that this is probably what is considered mid-life if I God willing live to be 80+ years old.
A little bit about me: I received my Ph.D. in Corporate Leaderhip in 2001 when I was almost 32 years of age and 9 months pregnant with my daughter. I realized what Braxton Hicks contractions were when they started in the auditorium as we were waiting receive our degrees. I thought "please not today" and 16 days later we were blessed with a healthy baby girl.
In any event, since then, I've gladly devoted my time to being a mother first and volunteering my time at school and in the community. I do teach part-time and develop online course curriculum for business and management classes for undergrad, MBA, and doctoral classes.
I feel that my life is enriched and live a happy life with my husband and daughter. I still feel there is more to do, so perhaps this blog can serve as my writing to myself and if anyone else would like to read it then I welcome the company.
Thank you!
